For a bug report, include your device model, operating-system version, Gramello version, and the steps that caused the problem. Do not send your password, sign-in codes, access tokens, or payment-card details. Share only the diary information needed to explain your issue.

You can also report a general issue on GitHub. GitHub issues are public. Send private questions and personal or nutrition information by email instead.

Your device and your data

No Gramello account or sign-in is required. In native and main-web apps, your diary, water entries, goals, saved meals, and custom foods stay on your device or in your browser. These changes are not copied to a server and do not sync between devices. The retained Expo browser client uses cookie-scoped server storage instead. In native and main-web apps, Settings provides portable backup import/export, CSV exports, and recovery after import. Clearing site data removes the local browser diary. Downloaded foods and cached barcode matches work offline in native and main-web apps. Retrieving new online search matches or looking up an uncached barcode requires an internet connection.

There is no automatic server backup of new local diary changes. An earlier hosted web diary can be recovered using Settings → Recover a previous web diary while its original browser cookie is available. Automatic first-use migration never deletes that server copy or overwrites existing local data. Device backups and app-data removal depend on your operating system and settings. A separate device backup may retain app data after you remove the app.

Food search and barcode scanning

Search by food name or scan a packaged-food barcode from Add food. Camera access is optional: you can enter the barcode manually. If a product is missing or its information is incomplete, try searching by name. Food data comes from USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, restaurant nutrition sources, and custom foods you add. Source and verification labels help distinguish them; an Unverified custom food has not been verified by Gramello.

Check the serving amount, units, and nutrition against the package label before saving. Food-database information can be incomplete or incorrect. Foods measured by weight support grams and weight ounces; volume-based drinks support milliliters and US fluid ounces.

Custom foods added in native and main-web apps are private to your device or browser. The retained Expo browser client adds custom foods to a shared server catalog, searchable by other clients using the compatibility API. To report an incorrect food-database result, email support with the food name, brand, and source.

Custom meals and goals

Use Add food → My meals → Create meal to combine ingredients and save a meal. Enter the finished batch weight when needed, then log a serving or a portion by weight. Editing or deleting a saved recipe does not change food already logged in your diary. Daily calorie and macro targets can be changed in settings.

The Water intake card lets you add or remove entries for a selected day and set a daily water goal in milliliters or US fluid ounces. Water entries are separate from food, calories, and macros.

Privacy and deletion requests

Read the Gramello privacy policy for details of data use and storage. There is no Gramello account to delete. You can manage individual food and water entries, saved meals, and goals in the app. Use your device and backup settings to manage app storage and any separate backups.

The native apps also send limited product-analytics events through Twilio Segment using a random installation identifier. These events do not include health information, diary contents, search text, barcodes, or nutrition values. Version 1.14.0 does not have an in-app analytics switch. See the privacy policy for the fields sent and the available choices.

We do not hold a server-side copy of new native or main-web diary changes. Earlier hosted data and the retained Expo browser client still use cookie-scoped server storage; the host controls those retained records. For help managing your data, or a privacy request about support information or analytics, contact gramello@edwardofclt.com. An email address alone does not identify anonymous analytics records; we will explain what information is needed to handle your request. Do not send your diary just to identify an analytics record.

Mobile apps and purchases

Gramello's paid Android and iOS apps are coming soon. Each platform is a separate one-time purchase, with all app features included. There are no subscriptions or additional feature paywalls. An iOS purchase does not include the Android app, and an Android purchase does not include the iOS app.

The price and availability will be shown in the relevant purchase listing. For billing or refunds, use the store or seller where you made the purchase. Apple handles App Store purchases and billing. For an Apple purchase or refund request, visit Apple's Report a Problem service.
