Your first day with Gramello

Set your goals, add your first food, and find your way around the app.

You can use the Android and iOS apps without creating a Gramello account. Your diary, saved meals, custom foods, water entries, and goals are stored on your device.

Make it yours

  1. Open Gramello and choose Settings.
  2. Under Daily goals, enter your calorie, protein, carbs, and fat targets. Changing calories keeps your macro split; changing a macro recalculates calories.
  3. Review all four values, then tap Save daily goals.
  4. Under Daily water goal, choose your preferred water unit and enter a target. Tap Save water goal to save it separately.

The initial targets are defaults you can change. For more on how the fields work together, see water and goals.

Add your first food

  1. Go to Diary and check the date at the top. Use the arrows to view an earlier day or return toward today.
  2. Tap the + next to Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks.
  3. Type a food or brand into Search foods, then choose a result.
  4. Check the food details, choose an available unit, and enter the amount you ate.
  5. Review the calories and macros, then tap Add to breakfast, Add to lunch, or the button for your selected meal.

Your food appears in that day's diary and updates its totals. For barcode scanning, custom foods, and correcting an entry, see logging food.

Find your everyday tools

  • Diary shows food and water for the selected day. The Water intake card lets you log a preset amount or enter your own.
  • Trends shows your nutrition over 7 days, 30 days, or 6 months.
  • Settings holds your daily goals. Settings → Advanced has food catalog updates, backup export and import, and CSV exports.
  • Add food → My meals holds recipes you can save and reuse.

Keep a copy of your diary

Gramello does not automatically sync your diary between devices or keep a server-side copy. Before changing phones or removing app data, use Settings → Advanced → Export backup and save the file somewhere you can access later. Follow back up and move your data when you are ready to restore it.
